Designed and developed by the team at RAYLIGHT back in 2003 the POWERAIL Hanging and Lighting System has since been installed in many of England's stately, and not so stately, homes and institutions.
Apart from many private art collections around the UK, POWERAIL can be found in The Royal Albert Hall, Chatsworth House, Goldsmiths Hall, The Wallace Collection, The Carlton Club, The American Museum in Britain, and the Leighton House Museum.
The POWERAIL story started back in 2003 at the Foundling Museum, Brunswick Square, London, England, London's first ever public art gallery.
Museum lighting expert, Dr Stephen Cannon-Brookes had been commissioned to design the lighting for the museum and called upon RAYLIGHT to develop a solution that would provide power for the picture lights designed to light the famous collection of paintings by William Hogarth and many others.
The system had to provide lighting power wherever a picture could be hung and equally importantly, to be in keeping with the period interiors of the building.
The result can be seen in by following the link to The Foundling Museum.
Since then the system has developed to include both the 18mm and the 25mm system, rail mounted spot lights and has been supplied in special finishes including brushed and bright nickel, antique bronze and gold, although the natural brass remains the most favoured.
Designed and manufactured in Britain, POWERAIL was tested by The Lighting Association for compliance with the relevant British and European standards. The lights are also UL Listed.
We are particularly proud to have the POWERAIL System approved & installed at the newly refurbished Help for Heroes Personnel Recovery and Assessment Centre at TEDWORTH HOUSE.
